Dear Brethren & Friends:

Greetings! The month of February has let us know that winter was slow to release its hold on much of the United States, but this month promises the beginning of spring! The daffodils are blooming along with the pansies that have continued to show their bright faces through the winter cold. Let us be like them and show our faces bright, reflecting the light of Christ, even when things around us may grow cold.

In spite of the cold temperatures, preparing for the modular for Berean Church has continued forward. A new storage shed has been built to receive items that were in the storage area where the modular building will be set. The shed that was on the cement slab will be moved to the other side of the property. And permitting for the modular will go forward this month. Also, a tractor with a bucket and a backhoe was donated to the International Association by one of our members from out of state to facilitate the improvement and development of the Hoschton property. For this we are truly thankful, and we look forward to the usefulness it will provide!

During the months of March and April, some people observe Easter and some people observe Passover, the latter being a part of the ancient Levitical ceremonies. Those who observe Easter usually use the resurrection of Christ as the reason for their observance. However, Christ never told us to observe His death and resurrection in this manner. Instead He instituted the Lord’s Supper to commemorate His sacrifice for our sins; and baptism of the believer in the watery grave reflects Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection: “The resurrection of Christ is commemorated by our being buried with Him by baptism, and raised up out of the watery grave in likeness of His resurrection, to live in newness of life.” EW 217. Enclosed or attached is a flyer explaining the origins and different components of Easter, and you will see that none of them have anything to do with our Saviour.

Those who observe Passover are observing a ceremony that points toward the coming of the Messiah, and thus the modern-day keepers of Passover are demonstrating that they do not believe that the Messiah has already come. According to the Spirit of Prophecy, those Christians that continue to observe the Passover insult God. (See the Question and Answer for this month to further understand the ramifications of continuing to keep the feast days.) Also be sure to listen to this month’s sermon entitled The Feast Days Today. It is important that we follow Christ where He leads, and He has led us beyond keeping the feast days. We must keep in time with God’s leading: not rushing ahead, nor lagging (far) behind.
