the International Association

Church Membership

Membership in the International Association of Free Seventh-day Adventists (IAFSDA) is open to churches and ministries that comply with the following basic requirements:

  • Believes in the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) faith

  • Is self-supporting (independent of the General Conference of SDA)

  • Teaches and practices historic Adventism

If your church or ministry fulfills the above basic requirements and is interested in becoming a member of the International Association, please do the following:

  1. Watch the videos posted below: Why We Are Free Seventh-day Adventists, Pt. 1 and Pt. 2.

  2. Learn our history: 

  3. Learn our Fundamental Beliefs.

  4. Request a Membership Application Form using the form below.

  5. Complete the Membership Application Form that you will receive upon your request; please fill in all of the requested information and responses, and either mail it to us, or scan it and email it back to us.

  6. Once the Application is approved, you will receive a Membership Certificate.

The size of your church is not an issue; we have churches as small as 3 people or as large as numbering in the hundreds.

Christ, the Church's Foundation

“Christ is the foundation of every true church. We have His unalterable promise that His presence and protection will be given to His faithful ones who walk in His counsel. To the end of time Christ is to be first. He is the source of life and strength, of righteousness and holiness. And He is all this to those who wear His yoke and learn of Him how to be meek and lowly.” - Gospel Workers, p. 485. 

Individual Membership

Membership is also available to individuals who believe in and practice the Seventh-day Adventist faith and are not near any other Free Seventh-day Adventist congregation. Individual members become members of the International Free Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Please familiarize yourself with the information listest above and then request an Application Form as an “Individual.”

If several individuals come together for worship (i.e. a home church), they are encouraged to request an Application Form as a “Church”.

God's Distinct People

“God has a distinct people, a church on earth, second to none, but superior to all in their facilities to teach the truth, to vindicate the law of God. God has divinely appointed agencies--men whom He is leading, who have borne the heat and burden of the day, who are cooperating with heavenly instrumentalities to advance the kingdom of Christ in our world. Let all unite with these chosen agents, and be found at last among those who have the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God, and have the faith of Jesus.” - Testimonies to Ministers, p. 58. 

Membership Benefits

Membership in the International Association include being a part of a large worldwide body with an emphasis on outreach, raising up new churches, promoting present truth via the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, and Medical Missionary Evangelism.

Additional benefits include: 

  1. Membership Certificate proving your church or ministry is part of an international body of like-minded Seventh-day Adventist Christians.

  2. Identity with other self-supporting churches of the historic Adventist faith and having a name common to all, i.e. Free Seventh-day Adventist.

  3. Have the ability to use "Free Seventh-day Adventist" in your church name.

  4. Allowing self-supporting or historic Adventist churches to use the Free Seventh-day Adventist name in their church's name, literature, handouts, etc., without fear of the trademarks of the Seventh-day Adventist name.

  5. Networking among self-supporting church leaders for mutual support and encouragement.

  6. Through Individual Membership, isolated members or wrongfully disfellowshipped individuals can have identity with others who love present  truth.

  7. Have your church listed on the International Association website for visibility and interests in your local area.

  8. Organizational advice, counsel, and recommendations for carrying forward your mission, plans, and goals.

  9. Assistance with church issues that the local church has trouble resolving.

  10.  Access to ministerial support for sacred services and ceremonies for churches without a local pastor: communion, weddings, funerals, baptisms, etc.

  11. Ministerial License or Ministerial Credentials for the local pastor (requirements apply).

  12. Ordination/consecration for church leaders as the necessity demands: pastors, elders, deacons, Bible workers.

  13. Training programs for pastors, evangelists, Bible workers, church leaders, church members, and medical missionary evangelists, as they become available.

  14. Student practicum/internships in Pastoral training, evangelism, and ministerial work.

  15. Material for dealing with controversial doctrinal issues that are becoming prevalent.

  16. Discount for International Association Sabbath School quarterlies in English, Spanish, etc., dealing with relevant historic beliefs and present truth subjects.

  17. Annual International Association Campmeeting in Georgia, with regional meetings for churches that associate together in different regions.

  18. Free Adventist Voice, a periodic newsletter for Association members.

  19. Periodic emails to inform and educate members on Association news, events, projects, and policies, etc.

  20. Materials for children or youth Sabbath School as it becomes available.

  21. Free monthly CDs/DVDs to educate members on present truth topics, spirituality, character development, and current events.

  22. Freedom from hierarchical control—member churches and ministries are self-governing and self-supporting.

Christ's Church, God's Grace

Strength in Unity

“Union is the strength; division is weakness. When those who believe present truth are united, they exert a telling influence. Satan well understands this. Never was he more determined than now to make of none effect the truth of God, by causing bitterness and dissension among the Lord's people.” - ST, January 18, 1883. “I was shown that those who are trying to obey God and purify their souls through obedience to the truth are God's chosen people, His modern Israel. God says of them, through Peter: "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." - Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 2, p. 109.
