August 2026 Newsletter
August 3, 2026
Dear Brethren & Friends:
Christian greetings to each and every one of you. I pray that you are resting in the care of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Campmeeting here on the property in Hoschton, Georgia, is just a few short weeks away. The dates are September 24-27, 2026, and the Campmeeting theme is Prepare to Exalt God’s Law. Speakers for this year’s Campmeeting are posted on the website at www.freesda.org on the Campmeeting 2026 Info page. All those who are able to attend physically are encouraged to do so. If you plan to attend physically, please be sure and reserve your hotel room soon. As usual we have special rates arranged with Holiday Inn Express, which is the closest hotel to the Campmeeting location. However, you MUST book your room by September 1, 2026. You may make your reservation either through the link posted on the website on the Campmeeting 2026 Info page or by calling the hotel directly at 770-791-0007, and ask to book with the FSDA International room rate. For those who are not able to attend physically, we will stream to Zoom, and most presentations will also be recorded to YouTube.
By the time you receive this Newsletter, I will be in Africa. It has been 10 years since I was last on the continent, with COVID preventing traveling there for a number of those years. Since it has been so long since I was there and since we have a number of new Free SDA churches there, I will be visiting five countries in four weeks. The countries I will be visiting are Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, and Burundi, and passing through South Africa, Uganda, and France. I will be traveling with my wife, and while in Africa we will be traveling with Pastor Benson Nganga, whom many of you know as having raised up a successful orphanage in Kenya with currently about 300 orphans; he also does a tremendous outreach work in Kenya and surrounding countries. This will be a very busy trip as I am trying to fit so much into a short time. Please keep this trip in prayer, that it will be successful and that our Lord will arrange all of the divine appointments that He sees will be beneficial for His work. This is also a very expensive trip because plane tickets and all other costs have increased over recent years. In addition the churches in the countries that we will be visiting have needs that I would like to assist with. Thus please consider sending a donation to help cover these costs, as they will still have to be covered even after I return to the United States. You may make donations through the website at www.freesda.org and click on Donate; or you can send through Zelle to info@freesda.org ; or you may mail in a check or money order to the address above and note what it is for; or by calling the office at 770-270-1087 and putting it on your credit card. Please help me to help our brethren in Africa.
On July 13, 2026, was a deadline for public comment on a concept being put together by President Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission here in the United States. This commission is trying to develop a concept that the separation of church and state is a myth, and many of us believe that this is a step toward uniting church and state in this country. Although there is no immediate action, this appears to be an important step to implement a process that we know from the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy will result in a law that will eventually bring worldwide persecution to Sabbath keepers. Note that this date of July 13th was only the deadline for public comment and not for the Commission’s decision or report.
The sermon for this month is entitled A Perfect Church. The Bible prophesies that God will have a perfect church; He will have a triumphant church to meet the battles that lay head for faithful Sabbath-keepers.
Yours to be a part of God’s perfect church.
Pastor P. Herbert
